Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, yes, an 80s movie.

1986 to be precisie, why not? It is such a light hearted movie narrated by Ferris, a teen in his last stage of high school that cuts class and, instead, takes his best friend and girlfriend out for a fun day, not to mention, in a Ferari owned by his friend’s obsessive and controlling father.

Everything about this story was loveable. Corny? Perhaps. But it was a great way to spend my Saturday afternoon with friends and popcorn.

The principal was very much like John Cleese to me, the character Basil Fawlty from the British comedy series Fawlty Towers is exactly who I was reminded of.

If you have had a busy day and just want a laugh, this would be good to watch. If you are a teenager you can mock how “old-looking” the characters are with their 80s haircuts and fashion. If you are an adult coming home from a long day at work you can be happy that this is not what your kids spend their day doing…or is it? Maybe it’s just me that hasn’t joined in a street parade and started singing with a group of girls dressed somewhat like The Flintstones.

Hope you had a smirt day 🙂

  1. it’s such a classic and has great underlying stories like cameron’s difficult family life and need to please his family but it is just flat out good. the world misses John Hughes
